11. Early Symptoms May Not Last for an Extended Period

During the early stages of HIV infection, some women may not show signs and symptoms of HIV. However, there are others that may experience fever, headaches or lack of energy – symptoms similar to mild flu that go away in a few weeks.

Some cases have also shown severe symptoms to last for as long as ten years. This is a period where the virus can be transmitted to others.
