What course to use; public or private? Although there are a large number of public golf clubs that provide excellent facilities and basic conditions, a number of people still agree to play at private golf clubs, despite having to pay a high fee. There are several benefits to playing in exclusive locations such as in private golf clubs and country clubs. Private golf courses differ slightly from country clubs in the sense that they do not require their players to pay membership fees. Instead, resorts and hotel guests are provided with excellent benefits from utilizing these types of golf facilities.

There are a number of benefits that come with playing golf on a private course. One of the biggest benefits is the fact that you do not have to deal with many holdups that caused heavy foot traffic. This may also be the main reason why people prefer to play in private golf facilities. Apart from this, some of the other features of this category of golf courses are that they have the top-notch ground level, excellent level of challenge and incredible golfing facilities. All these features contribute to the popularity of private courses among golfers.

In fact, most people usually answer “yes” if asked if a private golf course is a better option than a public golf facility. But unfortunately for them, most of these people end up on public golf courses, mainly because of the high fees levied by the most prestigious golf country clubs.

However, it is unknown to some people that being able to play an exciting golf game in a private club does not necessarily pay hefty fees or membership fees. A number of hotels and resorts usually only add the fees in the bill for the guest’s entire stay at the hotel. A few companies even offer special holiday packages that allow guests to play a golf game during their stay in the town.

There are some elite communities known for maintaining their own private golf courses that are limited to the community’s residents only, although they have the privilege of bringing guests on special occasions.

Country clubs are known for having their own swimming pools, tennis courts and private golf courses available only to members. The high membership fees are there to ensure golfers benefit from the golf game under excellent course conditions.

That said, a public golf course might be a better choice for a golfer who doesn’t play too often. If you don’t usually play in the winter and once a week in the summer, a public golf course would definitely be a more economical choice. On the other hand, the private golf course is ideal for a golfer who likes to play several times a week and regularly over the winter. Based on how much money you are willing to spend and what your specific needs are, both options have their benefits and deficits.
