1What Causes Snoring?

First, let’s explore the different ways that people snore.  That alone can help with explaining the “why” in snoring. There are four basic ways that most people snore.

  • Closed mouth – These snorers may have an issue with tongue placement
  • Open mouthed – For those that snore open mouthed, it may be due to the tissue in the throat area.
  • Back sleeping snorers – Frequently these are more mild snorers when compared to some of the other types.  In some respects this might be one of the easiest to address.  As noted below, a change in sleep position alone might address the situation.
  • Snoring in all positions – if this is the case, the snoring issue is pretty severe. And that would mean a thorough evaluation and additional snoring therapies.  It might also require testing our stop snoring devices or stop snoring mouthpiece.
